Hello, I’m Michelle Figueroa!

I was born and raised in Philadelphia, where I developed a strong work ethic and a love for creativity from a young age.

I always knew I wanted to create. I studied graphic design before eventually taking a more practical path into accounting.

But creativity never really left me. I just hadn't found the right outlet for it yet.

I'm a proud first-generation college graduate and entrepreneur. Before flowers, I owned a cake business for seven years, where I first discovered how much I loved creating for life's special moments.

When that chapter ended, I explored interior and event design, always looking for a way back to creating.

In 2017, my husband and I moved to South New Jersey to build a life centered around our growing family.

Flowers came into my life unexpectedly when my aunt asked me to create the florals for her wedding.

Something clicked.

I fell in love with the process and decided to trust that feeling. What started with one wedding eventually became A Rose's Thorn.

Flowers became the creative outlet I had been searching for all along.

Today, flowers are my art form and one of my greatest joys.

I love creating designs with movement, texture, and personality—flowers that feel beautiful, intentional, and personal to each celebration.

Every design is created with care, from the smallest detail to the finished space.

For me, this has always been about more than flowers. It's about the people, the stories, and the moments I'm trusted to be a small part of.

A Rose's Thorn is more than a name to me.

A rose is beautiful and delicate, but it also has thorns. To me, that's a reminder that some of life's most beautiful things are shaped by the challenges, growth, and experiences that came before them.

The name reflects my own journey and everything that led me here.
